Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves weighing 400-600 lbs sold mostly $5.00-10.00 higher with 600-700 lbs trading $4.00-7.00 higher and five pot loads of 815-1025 lb steers selling with a sharply higher undertone. Feeder heifers had the best test on 600-700 lbs selling $5.00-8.00 higher with all other weights trading with a higher undertone on few good comparable sales. Demand was good on a moderate supply with nine pot loads of top quality yearling steers and heifers all selling with good demand along with a nice quality offering of calves weighing mostly 450-650 lbs. Slaughter cows sold firm to 3.00 higher. Cattle on Feed Report was released Friday afternoon with On Feed at 101.2 percent; Placements at 97.9 percent and Marketings at 102.4 percent. Supply included: 87% Feeder Cattle (57% Steers, 43% Heifers, 0% Bulls); 13% Slaughter Cattle (4% Steers, 88% Cows, 8% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 71%.
