Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer calves under 500 lbs were lightly tested, with weaned 500-600 lbs selling steady to $3.00 higher, 600-700 lbs sold $4.00-6.00 higher and over 700 lbs were lightly tested. Feeder heifers 400-500 lbs sold steady, with 550-700 lbs trading with a fully steady to firm undertone. A nice quality offering of 500-700 lb steers and 600-700 lb heifer sold on and active market with good demand. Slaughter cows sold steady. Cattle on Feed report was released Friday afternoon with On Feed at 98.6 percent, Placements were at 97 percent, 3 percent below last year and 4 percent below expectations, Marketings came in at 97 percent. Supply included: 88% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 48% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 12% Slaughter Cattle (24% Steers, 8% Heifers, 64% Cows, 4% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 41%.
