In-Person Pest Management Field Day Is Back!

COLUMBIA, MO.

   The annual Mizzou Pest Management Field Day is set for Thursday, July 8th at the Bradford Research Center, approximately 8 miles east of Columbia.

   Registration will open at 8:00 AM. State extension weed scientist Kevin Bradley will share opening comments at 8:30 AM. The morning will include presentations by university scientists including state extension plant pathologist Kaitlyn Bissonnette and entomologist Kevin Rice.

   Weed science topics will include updates on-combine seed destruction devices and weed electrocution research results; accuracy of weather apps used for pesticide applications; the latest on synthetic auxin herbicide technologies; herbicide resistant weed updates; the use of herbicide-impregnated fertilizers in pastures; cover crops; and more.

   Lunch will be served at noon after which attendees will have the opportunity to view plots that showcase a variety of herbicide treatments and weed management programs for use in corn and soybean. 

   These plots will be clearly labeled and mapped out so that they can be viewed easily.

   Registration will open at 8:00 AM. A registration fee of $20.00 will be used to help cover cost associated with lunch and refreshments.

   The Bradford Research and Extension Center (Figure 3) is located at 4968 Rangeline Road, Columbia, MO 65201.
