Supply included: 77 percent Feeder Cattle (37 percent Steers, 49 percent Heifers, 14 percent Bulls); 20 percent Slaughter Cattle (91 percent Cows, 9 percent Bulls); 3 percent Replacement Cattle (89 percent Bred Cows, 11 percent Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 29 percent.

Compare to the last special three weeks ago, steer calves under 700 lbs and heifers under 650 lbs sold mostly steady to firm on comparable sales with the exception of 4 weight heifer calves trading firm to $3.00 higher and heifers over 650 lbs trading with a weak to lower undertone. Slaughter cows sold steady to $2.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good on a good offering of steer and heifer calves weighing 450-700 lbs. The feeder cattle market here at EMC has been lightly tested for the last two weeks, but this week's corn market has fell hard with limit losses on Thursday and sharp losses on Friday after Wednesday's WASDE Report help keep feeder prices from falling and remain mostly steady. The best demand was on 450-650 lb heifers and steers weighing 500-600 lbs. Supply included: 84 percent Feeder Cattle (47 percent Steers, 2 percent Dairy Steers, 50 percent Heifers, 1 percent Bulls); 16 percent Slaughter Cattle (15 percent Steers, 4 percent Heifers, 75 percent Cows, 7 percent Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 45 percent.
