Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $2.00-5.00 higher on a very light test due to weather. Slaughter cows sold $6.00 higher, bulls not well tested Demand good and supply light. Supply included: 80 percent Feeder Cattle (50 percent Steers, 47 percent Heifers, 3 percent Bulls); 18 percent Slaughter Cattle (85 percent Cows, 15 percent Bulls); 2 percent Replacement Cattle (67 percent Bred Cows, 33 percent Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 66 percent.

Compared to the last special two weeks ago, the best test was on steers weighing 600-800 lbs and heifers weighing 600-700 lbs trading firm to $3.00 higher. A very good offering of top quality black replacement heifers weighing 650-800 lbs sold with very good demand on and active market with plenty of buyers on the seats and internet bidding. Slaughter cows on a very light test sold steady to firm with spots $3.00 higher. Demand was good on bulk of the feeders weighing 600-800 lbs on a moderate offering on a very cold sale day as temperatures were hovering above the zero mark with colder weather coming in over the weekend. Supply included: 93 percent Feeder Cattle (47 percent Steers, 50 percent Heifers, 2 percent Bulls); 7 percent Slaughter Cattle (25 percent Steers, 13 percent Heifers, 53 percent Cows, 9 percent Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 79 percent.
