Calves were some cheaper this week as the feeder market continued to trend downward. However, consignors are continuing to see premiums for long time weaned and vaccinated cattle as the current cold and wet weather conditions are not favorable for short weaned and unvaccinated calves. Cattle futures gained some traction this week as they steadily climbed up and added a dollar overall to the October contracts, which is significant as we factor in current events.
