Beyond The Land And Livestock - The Importance Of The Farm Legacy

You want to leave this world knowing your children are secure, no matter what their ages. It's most likely every parent's dream. And when that dream includes passing on the family farm, it is a legacy, at times, rich in family history. But what about strong family values? This is the legacy you leave that can reach beyond the farm and change the world.
It's a thought worth pondering, isn't it? What are my children learning from what they see in me and not just what I say?

Work Hard – But don't let that be your top priority in life. Be an active part of family life outside of working the farm together. Not only will you be giving your children an example of a strong work ethic, they will see that family is of the utmost importance.
Invest In Life Insurance – Seriously! Be kind! Help others! Your children will see it is important to help their fellow-man.
Plan Ahead – Successful farming is all about planning ahead. Your children are learning being prepared is important in life.
Honesty Is The Best Policy – Be honest. Your children will see integrity at its finest.
Don't Worry – Be Happy – Have a positive outlook on life. Your children will see optimism in action.
A Man Of His Word – When you do what you say, your children learn trust is invaluable.
By instilling values in your children that enable them to stand strong no matter what, you are leaving them a legacy far more valuable than any tangible item or dollar amount. You are leaving behind a force that is capable of changing the world for the better. We need that today more than ever!
Your children are always watching. You are their most trusted teacher. Set the course for a life well-lived. Leave a legacy worthy of being passed on from generation to generation; first on the farm and reaching beyond.
