Friday's auction was a Special Bred Cow sale with very few feeders on offer for a market test. A nice offering of slaughter cows sold mostly $5.00-8.00 higher, spots $10.00 higher with the most advance on the high dressing cows. There was a nice quality offering of young bred cows mostly 3-5 yrs in the 3rd stage that sold with good demand and a few young pairs 4-6 yrs with 200-250 lb calves in the offering.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $5.00-8.00 higher on a light test. Slaughter cows sold $9.00 higher, bulls sold $12.00 higher; Demand good and supply light. Supply included: 85 percent Feeder Cattle (39 percent Steers, 51 percent Heifers, 9 percent Bulls); 11 percent Slaughter Cattle (86 percent Cows, 14 percent Bulls); 5 percent Replacement Cattle (35 percent Bred Cows, 65 percent Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 19 percent.
