Slaughter cows sold $2.00 lower and bulls sold steady; Demand uneven and supply moderate. Supply included: 85 percent Feeder Cattle (48 percent Steers, 39 percent Heifers, 13 percent Bulls); 11 percent Slaughter Cattle (92 percent Cows, 8 percent Bulls); 4 percent Replacement Cattle (84 percent Bred Cows, 16 percent Cow-Calf Pairs). Compared to the last special two weeks ago, the good quality weaned steer calves weighing 550-700 lbs sold steady to $5.00 higher, spots $7.00 higher on the 550-600 lb steers, with weights over 700 lbs on a light test selling mostly steady. Heifer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold mostly steady on a light test, with 500-600 lbs lightly tested, over 600 lbs traded steady on comparable sales. Slaughter cows sold firm to 2.00 higher. Best demand was on the 550-700 lb steer calves with heifer calves weighing 500-600 lbs overall quality was plainer and carrying flesh. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate.
