Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 28 percent.

Friday’s auction was a Special Bred Cow and Pairs sale with a very light offering of feeder cattle that were not well tested. Many of the feeder calves were sold off the cows sold earlier in the day and sold in small packages and singles. Slaughter cows sold steady with last week. A nice offering of black bred heifers to calf in the fall sold with moderate to good demand along with a nice offering of young bred cows 4-6 yrs of age sold with good demand. The June 1 Cattle on Feed released today reported On Feed at 102 percent; Marketings at 101 percent and Placements at 97 percent. Much like last month, The June 1 on feed number was reported at 11.740 million head making it the largest June 1 number since the series started in 1996.
