Supply included: 76 percent Feeder Cattle (35 percent Steers, 51 percent Heifers, 14 percent Bulls); 16 percent Slaughter Cattle (84 percent Cows, 16 percent Bulls); 8 percent Replacement Cattle (62 percent Bred Cows, 38 percent Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 21 percent.

Compared to the last special two weeks ago, feeder steers weighing 350-500 lbs sold steady to firm on a light test, with 500-600 lb steers selling $8.00-12.00 lower , spots $15.00 lower on the 500-550 lb steers, 600-750 lbs sold $3.00-8.00 lower with 8 weight steers trading mostly steady on comparable sales. Feeder heifers weighing 450-600 lbs sold steady, with 600-700 lbs selling steady to $4.00 higher and 700-800 lbs trading steady to $3.00 lower. Slaughter cows on a nice offering sold steady to $3.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good with supply heavy. Overall the heifer market held up better than the steers from two weeks ago specially those weighing 500-700 lbs. CME cattle futures this week had liquidation selling as the fed cattle market in the Southern Plains was mostly steady and the Northern Plains traded mostly $3.00 lower.
