Slaughter cows and bull sold $2.00-3.00 higher; Demand lower and supply moderate. Supply included: 87 percent Feeder Cattle (42 percent Steers, 43 percent Heifers, 14 percent Bulls); 11 percent Slaughter Cattle (85 percent Cows, 15 percent Bulls); 2 percent Replacement Cattle (63 percent Bred Cows, 37 percent Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 20 percent.

Friday’s auction was a Special Bred Cow and Pairs sale with a very nice offering of top quality 1st calf heifer pairs and young pairs mostly 3-6 yrs of age all selling with very good demand. Feeder cattle were very lightly tested compared to last week’s heavy volume sale with many calves unweaned. Slaughter cows on a nice offering sold firm to 2.00 higher.
