Grain And Silage Sampling And Mycotoxin Testing

PRINCETON, KY.
If corn ear rot diseases have been a problem in a field, it is important to test the harvested grain for mycotoxins. Obtaining a representative sample for mycotoxin testing is critical to obtaining accurate results. It is also import to know that testing methods vary in accuracy. These issues are address in Grain and Silage Sampling and Mycotoxin Testing, which provides information on sampling requirements, testing kits, and professional grain testing laboratories.
Grain and Silage Sampling and Mycotoxin Testing was produced by the Crop Protection Network (CPN), a multi-state and international endeavor that provides unbiased, research-based information on field crops in the U.S. and Canada. UK Extension Grain Plant Pathologists, Kiersten Wise and Carl Bradley, are among the authors/reviewers who were involved in creating this publication. Because of its relevance to Kentucky growers, the CPN publication now replaces the UK fact sheet, Options for Mycotoxin Analysis in Corn and Feed (PPFS-MISC-01).
Grain and Silage Sampling and Mycotoxin Testing is available on the Plant Pathology Extension webpage and can also be downloaded directly from the CPN website.
