The Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station has eight field days scheduled for 2019, covering topics as varied as cattle, row crops, turfgrass and watermelons.
The Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station is the research arm of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. Its field days begin in April at the Livestock and Forestry Research Station in Batesville, and wind up in August at Marianna.
“Field days are an invaluable opportunity for industry reps, farmers, consultants and the general public to see firsthand the latest field research being conducted at the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and to have group and one-on-one interactions with Division of Agriculture researchers and extension specialists,” said Nathan Slaton, assistant director of the Agricultural Experiment Station.
“Much of the research that is showcased at these field days is funded by our commodity check-off programs,” he said. “The advancement and development of agricultural technology, education programs and best management practices often comes from open discussion between scientists and our stakeholders.”
