Cows made up approximately 12 percent of the run, 88 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 29 percent of the offering, 39 percent heifers with 33 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 25 percent.

Compared to two weeks ago, very few comparisons as this week's sale was mostly unweaned/fleshy calves weighing 450-750 lbs, a few weaned calves and yearlings sold with a steady undertone on a very light test. Friday's auction was the start of the fall calve crop with many unweaned and fleshy calves selling with light to moderate demand. Heavy rains over the last week have made way for very muddy conditions in the area. Slaughter cows accounted for near 15 percent of the total receipts and sold steady to firm, with slaughter steers and heifers totaling 5 percent. Feeder cattle consisted of 55 percent steers, 45 percent heifers and near 50 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
