   No recent price trend with light receipts over the past several weeks, but all classes of feeder cattle traded with a higher undertone. Slaughter cows sold steady with last week. Demand was good with supply moderate. Good demand on light weight steers calves under 500 lbs and 2 pot loads of big yearlings weighing 975-990 lbs.  CME cattle futures this week closed with sharp triple-digit gains on Friday as Wednesday's crop report was for record yields for corn and soybeans, with corn coming in at 181.3 bu/ac and soybeans 52.8 bu/ac. Slaughter cows accounted for 15 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 68 percent steers, 32 percent heifers and near 55 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

Cows made up approximately 10 percent of the run, 90 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 57 percent of the offering, 39 percent heifers with 5 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 30 percent.
