Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 30 percent.

Feeder steers and heifers weighing over 500 lbs sold with a steady to firm undertone with no recent comparison (last week was a Special Bred Cow sale) and not well tested with two weeks ago. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate. Slaughter cows sold steady to $2.00 higher. There was a nice offering of 600-750 lb steers and 500-650 lb heifers selling with the best demand. Cattle of Feed Report was released Friday afternoon with on Feed at 104 percent slightly higher than estimates, Placements were bearish at 100.2 percent with estimates at 95.8 percent, Marketings were as expected at 105.4 percent. Slaughter cows accounted for near 10 percent of the total receipts, slaughter steers and heifers accounted for 4 percent with the balance feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 51 percent steers and bulls, 49 percent heifers and 62 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
