Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $2.00-5.00 lower on a light test. Slaughter cows sold $4.00 higher and bulls sold steady. Supply light. Cows made up approximately 15 percent of the run, 85 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 20 percent of the offering, 51 percent heifers with 30 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 18 percent.

Friday's auction was a Special Bred Cow/Pairs sale with one large consignment of 110 bred heifers black and Red Angus with about half AI bred to calf in the fall from the Deer Creek Cattle Co. along with another large consignment of over 110 head of young black bred cows 3-6 yrs to calf in the fall all selling with moderate to good demand. Feeder cattle supply was very lightly tested with the majority of the calves unweaned and selling right off the cows that sold earlier in the day, but selling with a lower undertone and with moderate demand. Slaughter cows accounted for 20 percent of the total receipts and traded steady to $3.00 higher, bred cows and pairs accounted for 55 percent and feeders 25 percent. The feeder supply consisted of 54 percent steers, 46 percent heifers and 22 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
