Cow special with only a few feeder calves offered. No comparisons on the calves with last week’s feeder special. Several nice strings of heifers with their first baby, and young third period cows highlighted the days offering. Slaughter cows traded steady to $2.00 lower. Weathermen are promising warmer days ahead which will hopefully jumpstart area pastures as grass has been slow in coming. Cows accounted for 78 percent of the receipts with 22 percent feeders. In the feeder supply steers and bulls accounted for 64 percent, 36 percent heifers, and 25 percent weighed over 600 lbs.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $2.00-8.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady. Demand good and supply light. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 30 percent of the offering, 51 percent heifers with 19 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 15 percent.

Compared to last week, 300-500 lbs steers sold $9.00-16.00 higher, the rest of the offering sold steady to $5.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold $3.00 lower and bulls sold steady; Demand good and moderate. Cows made up approximately 15 percent of the run, 85 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 46 percent of the offering, 44 percent heifers with 11 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 17 percent.
