Cows made up approximately 9 percent of the run, 91 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 30 percent of the offering, 50 percent heifers with 20 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 13 percent.

Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-600 lbs sold steady to firm, with 6 weight steers selling with a higher undertone and 700-900 lbs not well tested. Feeder heifers weighing 400-600 lbs sold steady to $5.00 higher with heifers over 600 lbs trading with a higher undertone as last week’s sales were mostly all calves. Slaughter cows on a large offering sold fully steady to firm. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate. Friday's offering included mostly new crop calves with many unweaned/short weaned, also in the offering were several strings and consignments of good quality black heifers weighing 500-700 lbs. CME cattle futures for the most part rebounded and had a good week with fed cattle market mostly steady. Slaughter cows accounted for near 20 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 40 percent steers, 60 percent heifers and 47 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
