   Too small of an offering for a trend comparison. Slaughter cows and a few bulls sold steady. Supply very light. Cows made up approximately 19 percent of the run, 81 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 23 percent of the offering, 45 percent heifers with 32 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 16 percent.

Eastern Missouri Livestock Auction

   Compared to two weeks ago, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs were not well tested but sold with a lower undertone, 500-600 lb steers and a light test of 700-800 lb steers traded $5.00-7.00 lower. Feeder heifers weighing 400-600 lbs sold steady with weights over 600 lbs not well tested but selling with a lower undertone. Supply was moderate with demand moderate to good on weaned calves. Slaughter cows sold steady to $3.00 higher on the high dressing cows. Friday's auction was a Charolais influence feeder sale with several strings, lots and packages of good quality Charolais cross feeders in the offering.  Also, included were several consignments of new crop bawling calves carrying flesh or unweaned that sold with light to moderate demand. CME cattle futures and commodities remain very volatile with fed cattle prices once again this week trading lower from $114.00-118.00 in the Southern and Northern Plains. Slaughter cows accounted for 20 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply included 52 percent steers and bulls, 48 percent heifers and 38 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

Supply moderate.  Cows made up approximately 13 percent of the run, 87 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 39 percent of the offering, 45 percent heifers with 17 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 11 percent.
