Compared to last week, 600 lbs steers and heifers sold $5.00 higher, the rest of the offering sold steady to $5.00 lower. Slaughter cows sold $2.00 higher and bulls sold steady; Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 22 percent of the offering, 40 percent heifers with 38 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 29 percent.

Friday's auction was a Special Bred Cow-Heifer sale with a very light test of feeder cattle. The best test of feeders was on the 400-600 lb steer and heifer calves selling mostly steady on comparable sales with yearlings scarce. The feeder offering was made up of mostly small packages and singles many unweaned and fleshy selling with moderate demand. Slaughter cows sold steady to $2.00 lower with high dressing cows trading steady. Slaughter cows, bred cows and heifers made up 56 percent of the total receipts. Feeder cattle consisted of 33 percent steers, 22 percent bulls and 45 percent heifers with near 27 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
