Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold uneven, from $5.00 lower to $5.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $4.00-5.00 lower; Demand uneven and supply moderate to heavy. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 55 percent of the offering, 38 percent heifers with 7 feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 34 percent.

Compared to two weeks ago, a light test on 600-800 lb steers sold mostly $10.00 higher, with a light test of 600-650 lb heifers trading $6.00 higher, all other weights over 600 lbs sold with a higher undertone. Feeder calves under 600 lbs were in light supply and not well tested. Demand was good best on two pot loads of big yearling steers weighing 1000 lbs and several lots and part loads of heifers weighing 675-775 lbs with supply moderate. Slaughter cows sold $2.00-3.00 lower. Despite fed cattle market trading lower over the last several weeks demand for yearlings remains very good. Slaughter cows accounted for near 10 percent of the total receipts. Feeder cattle supply consisted of 46 percent steers and 54 percent heifers and 77 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
