Compared to two weeks ago, steer calves weighing 500-600 lbs on a light test sold steady, with 600-700 lbs steers trading steady to $2.00 lower with the most decline on the 650-700 lb steers, 700-800 lbs sold mostly $2.00-3.00 lower. Feeder heifers had the best test on 550-700 lbs trading steady with all other weights not tested with two weeks ago. Demand was good with a moderate supply, there were several part loads and two pot loads of mostly black 600-700 lb heifers all selling with good demand. Slaughter cows sold $2.00-3.00 lower. Friday's Cattle on Feed report was mostly friendly especially in terms of the smaller than expected replacements at 102.7 percent with the average guess at 106.2 percent; On Feed came in at 104.3 percent and Marketings at 104.1 percent all within expectations. Slaughter cows accounted for 10 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 44 percent steers, 56 percent heifers and 57 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

Supply was moderate, the feeder supply consisted of 44 percent steers and bulls, 36 percent heifers and 28 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls of 20 percent of the total offering. Slaughter cows steady to $2.00 lower.

Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 30 percent.
