Country Artist Jake McVey’s Song Grow Featured In Merschman Seeds Marketing Efforts
BRANSON, MO.
Country artist Jake McVey grew up in rural Southeastern Iowa, where his first job as a teenager was detasseling corn. He recalls those long, hot days and hard work in the fields – something almost every kid from Mediapolis did in the summers when he was growing up. Now as he tours cross country from his home-base of Nashville, Tennessee, it is no surprise that his Midwest farming roots show up in his songwriting.
His latest musical creation is called Grow and it pays homage to the farming family. The song’s message resonated with Joe Merschman, President and CEO of Merschman Seeds, an Iowa-based seed company, so he worked out a deal to help promote the song through his company’s marketing efforts. “Just the expression ‘grow’ is a positive message that we want to bring across as a company. This is a song about the family that works together to grow their farm. When we heard the message, we wanted to share it with the ag community.”
McVey appreciates the support from Merschman. The seed company is distributing over 100,000 free CDs featuring the song within their seed guide to farmers in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and border states. An MP3 version of the song is also available via a free download at the MerschmanSeeds.com website. The Iowa company will also incorporate the song in TV and radio ads and feature Jake in their seed guide. “It's an honor to be included in Merschman's ‘Grow’ campaign,” says McVey. “Merschman's reputation for quality and loyalty to our farmers represents America's core values, and that is something I'm proud to be associated with.”
Jake has charted on the top 100 Billboard Country Artist indicator chart and he was nominated for “Best new Country Artist” last year by New Music Weekly Magazine. ∆
