Ag Tech Workshop Series Begins In August

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO.
The Economic and Business Engagement Center at Southeast Missouri State University is hosting an Agriculture Technology Workshop Series to help agribusinesses and entrepreneurs gain insight into ag tech innovations and regional resources available to them.
The series includes an event each Tuesday and Thursday of the first two weeks in August. The series will kick off Aug. 1 with the Small Business and     Technology Development Center (SBTDC) hosting an international trade presentation. Experts will be available during this presentation to answer questions about exporting food and ag products. SBTDC will then host a farm and ag products tour, highlighting agribusinesses in the Missouri Bootheel.     The series will culminate with two workshops highlighting technology uses in agriculture, including a demonstration of drone use in agriculture at the     Sikeston Irrigation Field adjacent to the Sikeston Regional Campus.
“Bringing agribusiness and ag producer expertise to the region through this workshop series is another demonstration of Southeast Missouri State University’s commitment to the agriculture industry,” said Engagement Center Director Crystal Jones. “These workshops are just one example of how we are collaborating with public agencies and local businesses to advance the regional economy.”
