STOCKTON, MO.
University of Missouri Extension, along with the Partners in Pasture Grazing Group, will be doing a pasture walk starting at 5:30 p.m., June 26 at the Raymond and Russell Neill Farm near Fair Play.
The farm is about 9.5 miles east on Highway 32 from the four way stop in Stockton on the right side of the road or about 6 miles west on Highway 32 from the intersection of Highway 123 and Highway 32 in Fair Play, on the left side of the road.
The program will consist of an overview and discussion of the cattle and grazing operation focusing on pasture management, livestock management, and weed and brush control.
“Along with the discussion, there will be a tour of the livestock and farming operation. Following the tour, we will have a potluck dinner so bring your favorite dish. MU Extension will provide the meat, buns, paper products and water,” said Dr. Patrick Davis, livestock specialist with University of Missouri Extension.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair.
There is no cost for the event. However, pre-registration is encouraged so there can be plenty of the food. Preregister by June 23 to the Cedar County MU Extension Center at 417-276-3313 or by email at davismp@missouri.edu. ∆
