Compared to the previous special two weeks ago, steer calves under 550 lbs sold steady on comparable sales, with 550-800 lb steers selling $3.00-7.00 lower with the exception of 700-750 lbs steers trading steady to $3.00 lower. Feeder heifers weighing 400-450 lbs sold $3.00-4.00 higher with 450-650 lb heifers trading steady to $3.00 higher, 650-700 lbs heifers sold mostly $4.00-8.00 lower with heifers over 700 lbs not tested. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm. Demand was moderate to good with supply moderate. Light weight calves sold on and active market, with bigger calves and yearlings finding some pressure with fat cattle trade this week mostly $6.00 lower on live sales. A large offering of slaughter cows (near 400 hd) accounted for near 20 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 68 percent steers and bulls, 32 percent heifers and near 43 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
