   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold uneven from $2.00 lower to $5.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold $2.00 lower and bulls sold steady. Supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 15 percent of the run, 85 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 45 percent of the offering, 44 percent heifers with 8 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 23 percent.

   Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold uneven, from $2.00 lower to $7.00 higher.  Slaughter cows sold $1.00 lower and bulls sold steady. Supply light. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 35 percent of the offering, 50 percent heifers with 15 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 38 percent.

Eastern Missouri Livestock Auction

   Compared to the last special two weeks ago, feeder steers weighing 450-850 lbs all traded $10.00-15.00 higher with feeder heifers weighing 400-800 lbs selling $8.00-15.00 higher with the exception of 500-550 lbs selling firm to $3.00 higher. Demand was good with supply moderate to heavy. Slaughter cows sold fully steady to firm, with spots $2.00 higher. There was a large standing room only crowd as Eastern Missouri Commission Co. held the 9th Annual Missouri Livestock Marketing Association Auctioneer Contest with nine very talented auctioneer contestants in the contest along with Andy White the 2016 World Livestock Auctioneer Champion. The winner was Justin Abell representing Unionville Livestock Market, with Reserve Champion Brian Curless representing F & T Livestock Market and third runner up going to Brandon Frey also representing Unionville Livestock Market. A very active market with plenty of good quality calves and yearlings on hand all selling with very good demand as the fat cattle market was mostly 6.00 higher this week trading mostly from $136.00-140.00 giving plenty of support to the market.  Slaughter cows accounted for near 12 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of near 64 percent steers and bulls, 36 percent heifers and near 50 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
