   Compared to the last special three weeks ago, calves and yearlings all traded steady to firm on comparable sales. Friday’s offering included a nice run of weaned calves and yearlings selling with good demand, also in the mix were numerous lots and packages of new crop unweaned/fleshy calves selling with light to moderate demand. Slaughter cows sold $2.00-5.00 lower. CME cattle futures this week had a nice run of triple digit gains as fed cattle prices traded higher this week giving support to the market.  Slaughter cows accounted for near 13 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply included 55 percent steers and bulls, 45 percent heifers and near 56 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

Cows made up approximately 17 percent of the run, 83 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 44 percent of the offering, 41 percent heifers with 16 percent feeder bulls.  Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 19 percent.
