Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $1.00-7.00 higher, with good quality in the offering. Slaughter cows sold steady and bulls sold $1.00 lower; Demand good and supply moderate to heavy. Cows made up approximately 7 percent of the run, 93 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 57 percent of the offering, 36 percent heifers with 7 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 38 percent.

Compared to the previous auction two weeks ago, feeder steers weighing 400-800 lbs sold $5.00-10.00 higher, with spots $12.00 higher on steer calves under 500 lbs and 550-600 lb steer calves. Feeder heifers weighing 450-700 lbs traded $5.00-8.00 higher with heifers over 700 lbs selling with a higher undertone on a light test with two weeks ago. Demand was good on a moderate to heavy supply. There was a good offering of top quality steers and heifers weighing mostly 500-750 lbs with many selling with good weighing conditions and a good offering of black replacement heifers weighing over 700 lbs. Slaughter cows sold firm to $2.00 higher. Cattle on Feed report was released Friday afternoon came in within analyst expectations with on Feed numbers at 100 percent; Placement at 99 percent and Marketings at 104 percent. Slaughter cows accounted for near 14 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 53 percent steers, 47 percent heifers and 58 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
