Slaughter cows and bulls sold $2 higher; Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 5 percent of the run, 95 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 61 percent of the offering, 32 percent heifers with 7 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 42 percent.

Friday's sale was a special bred cow and heifer sale, with a light test of feeder cattle. Steer calves weighing 500-600 lbs traded steady with last week on comparable sales with steers over 600 lbs selling with a steady to lower undertone on a light test. Feeder heifers weighing 400-500 lbs traded steady, with a light test of heifers over 500 lbs selling with a weak to lower undertone. Slaughter cows sold fully steady to firm. Demand was moderate on feeders with a moderate supply. Slaughter and bred cows accounted for near 40 percent of the total receipts with a very nice offering of slaughter steers and heifers mostly high choice fed cattle selling with very good demand accounted for near 9 percent of the total receipts. The feeder supply consisted of 62 percent steers and bulls, 38 percent heifers and near 48 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
