2016 Soybean Update And Cross Reference Guide Now Available

Two popular soybean publications have been updated for 2016 and are now available. The Soybean Update is an annual publication featuring information on varietal performance, including yield, which varies according to location, environmental adaptability to soils, maturity, lodging, height, disease and nematode resistance, and herbicide and chloride sensitivity. This information listed in this publication is largely derived from the University of Arkansas System, Division of Agriculture Soybean Performance Trials and screening programs, and is provided as an aid in variety selection.
The Cross Reference Guide features a list of common soybean varieties and their genetically identical commercially branded names. Please note: Two varieties that are genetically the same may not perform the same side by side in the field due to differences in environmental conditions and management practices among seed increase production fields. How the seed is handled and processed between the time of harvesting in the seed increase field and planting in a grower’s field also influences overall seed quality, which in turn can affect the performance of two varieties that genetically are the same.
Both publications are available in this post and under the Publications tab on this blog, as well as at http://www.uaex.edu/farm-ranch/crops-commercial-horticulture/soybean/. ∆
