Compared to last week, steers sold steady to $12 lower, heifers sold uneven from $3 lower to $5 higher; Demand uneven and supply moderate. Slaughter cows sold $3 lower and bulls sold $1 lower. Cows made up approximately 10 percent of the run, 90 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 55 percent of the offering, 39 percent heifers with 6 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 29 percent.

Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-550 lbs sold steady to $2 lower on comparable sales, with 550-600 lb steer calves trading $3-5 lower, 600-750 lbs mostly steer calves sold unevenly steady. Feeder heifers weighing 450-600 lbs sold steady with 600-700 lb heifers selling weak to $3 lower, weights over 700 lbs were not tested. Slaughter cows sold $3-5 lower. Bulk of the receipts was calves weighing 500-750 lbs with many carrying flesh. Demand was moderate with supply heavy. Fed cattle trade this week was lower with fed cattle prices looking to work its way lower going into the holidays. Slaughter cows accounted for near 10 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 65 percent steers and bulls, 35 percent heifers and near 57 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
