Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to $6 higher. Slaughter cows sold $2 lower and bulls sold $1 higher; Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 17 percent of the run, 83 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 34 percent of the offering, 42 percent heifers with 24 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 21 percent.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to $10 higher, pot load lots of good quality 600-700 lbs steers sold very well. Slaughter cows sold $1 lower and bulls sold $2 lower; Demand moderate to good and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 13 percent of the run, 87 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 65 percent of the offering, 26 percent heifers with 8 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 55 percent.

Compared to the last special two weeks ago, 400-450 lbs steer calves traded steady to firm, 450-650 lb steer calves sold steady to $5 lower with the most decline on 550-650 lb steer calves, yearlings over 650 lbs were scarce with mostly big calves in the offering. Heifer calves weighing 400-500 lbs sold steady, with 500-600 lbs heifer calves selling $5-10 lower over 600 lbs were not well tested but traded with a weak to lower undertone on a few comparable sales. Slaughter cows on a nice offering traded steady to firm. Bulk of Friday’s offering were calves with overall quality not as attractive as two weeks ago, demand was moderate with light demand on unweaned/fleshy calves still finding discounts. Supply was moderae to good with the make up mostly spring born calves. Slaughter cows accounted for near 20 percent of the total receipts. The feeder supply consisted of 51 percent steers and bulls, 49 percent heifers and 45 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
