Compared to last week, 300-400 lbs steers sold $3 higher, 300-350 lbs heifers sold $2-4 higher, the rest of the offering sold $3-5 lower on a light test. Slaughter cows sold $2 lower and bulls sold $4 lower; Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 16 percent of the run, 84 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 26 percent of the offering, 38 percent heifers with 34 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 22 percent.

Compared to last week, a light test of steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs sold with a weak to lower undertone with most calf offerings unweaned, feeders over 650 lbs were not well tested with last week. Supply and demand was light. Slaughter cows sold mostly $2-3 lower. CME cattle futures and fed cattle market continue to see aggressive downward trend in prices as fed cattle this week traded at 2016 lows with live sales at $103-104. Slaughter cows accounted for near 18 percent of the total receipts. Feeder supply consisted of 78 percent steers and bulls, 22 percent heifers and near 45 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
