Compared to last week’s special a light test of feeder cattle traded weak to $5 lower on comparable sales. Slaughter cows traded fully steady. Bulk of the feeders weighed from 450-650 lbs selling in small packages and bunches with moderate demand. Feeder cattle prices have continued to work lower again this week as cattle futures have traded lower along with sharp losses in the fed cattle trade. Slaughter cows accounted for near 30 percent of the total receipts. In the feeder supply steers and bulls accounted for 60 percent, heifers 40 percent and near 32 percent weighed over 600 lbs.

Compared to last week, 300 lbs steers and the 700 lbs offering sold $3 higher, the rest of the offering sold $5-15 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $1-2 higher. Demand uneven and supply light. Slaughter cows made up approximately 23 percent of the run, 77 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 32 percent of the offering, 48 percent heifers with 25 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 20 percent.
