Compared to last week, 600-700 lbs steers and heifers sold $2-10 higher, the rest of the offering sold uneven, from $7 higher to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $1 higher. Demand uneven and supply light. Slaughter cows made up approximately 11 percent of the run, 89 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 53 percent of the offering, 38 percent heifers with 9 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 26 percent.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold $3-15 higher with good conditioning in the offering. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady. Demand good and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 12 percent of the run, 88 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 52 percent of the offering, 39 percent heifers with 8 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 25 percent.

Friday’s auction was a Special Bred Cow sale, with a light supply of feeder cattle. Feeders on a very light test traded near steady on few comparable sales of lightweight calves under 500 lbs all other weights were too lightly tested. Most sales were singles, small packages and odds. Slaughter cows sold fully steady to spots $2 higher on the lean and boning cows. Bred and slaughter cows accounted for near 65 percent of the receipts with the balance feeders. In the feeder supply steers and bulls accounted for 47 percent, 53 percent heifers and near 25 percent weighed over 600 lbs.
