Out-Of-The-Box Science Based Insights Into Food System Sustainability
DR. PAUL VINCELLI
LEXINGTON, KY.
Earlier this year, I assumed the responsibilities of Coordinator for the University of Kentucky’s participation in the USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program. The UK SARE program is involved in a variety of exciting projects and activities. One new activity is my new blog: Out-of-the-Box: Science-Based Insights into Food System Sustainability, online at http://out-of-the-box-vincelli.blogspot.com/.
The name of the blog was chosen because I often challenge myself and others to think “out-of-the-box,” particularly when scientific data justify doing so. The topic of agricultural sustainability is incredibly complex, with many facets and dimensions, and we serve our descendents best when we think creatively and engage in respectful dialogue with people holding diverse viewpoints.
My blog will have relevance to management of diseases and other pests but, with agricultural sustainability being such a vast topic, the topics addressed in the blog can be expected to be diverse and, perhaps, sometimes unexpected.
I hope you find the posts interesting and useful. ∆
