Compared to the last feeder special three weeks ago, steers under 600 lbs $5-10 lower and over 600 lbs $3-5 lower. Heifers weak to $5 lower. Demand moderate, some late sales light. Supply moderate on a feeder special, mostly 450-850 lbs offerings and overall quality not as attractive as previous special, near 41 percent steers and bulls, 49 percent heifers, 10 percent cows and 33 percent feeders over 600 lbs. Slaughter cows compared to last week steady to $2 lower.

Compared to last week, 300-400 lbs steers sold $9-14 higher, the rest of the offering sold uneven, from $5 higher to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $1-2 higher; Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 48 percent of the offering, 37 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 41 percent.

No sale last week. Temperatures in the 90’s with high humidity made handling the livestock difficult. Trends were uneven. 5-700 lb steers showed higher. Slaughter bulls and cows sold steady.

Due to the Holiday there was no sale last week for a trend comparison, however compared to two weeks ago steers under 600 lbs sold $9-20 higher, the rest of the offering sold uneven, from $4 higher to $4 lower. Slaughter cows sold $3 higher and bulls sold steady. Demand uneven and supply light. Cows made up approximately 12 percent of the run, 88 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 38 percent of the offering, 45 percent heifers with 18 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 31 percent.
