Scheduling Note: Farmington Livestock will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 due to the Holidays. There will be a special cow sale Jan. 4.
Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 500 lbs sold $13-17 higher, the rest of the offering over 500 lbs sold $4-8 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $3-4 higher; Demand good and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 16 percent of the run, 84 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 45 percent of the offering, 41 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 34 percent.

There was no sale last week due to heavy snowfall and poor road conditions. Compared to two weeks ago the market appeared to be uneven depending on quality and condition. The good quality cattle were $4-6 higher. Slaughter bulls and cows sold higher.

Patton Livestock Auction will be closed Dec. 23 and 30 for the holidays.
Due to bad weather last week the barn was closed, compared to two weeks ago steers and heifers sold steady to $5 higher. Slaughter cows sold $5 higher and bulls sold $4 higher; Demand moderate and supply light. Cows made up approximately 21 percent of the run, 79 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 40 percent of the offering, 44 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 28 percent.
