Nation’s Leading Ag Educational Conference Is Headed To Memphis In 2016
The 19th Annual National Conservation Systems Cotton & Rice Conference, the Southern Corn & Soybean Conference, the Southern Precision Ag Conference and the Delta States Irrigation Conference are headed to Memphis, Tennessee.
Sponsored by Cotton Incorporated, US Rice Producers Association, and the United Soybean Board and a production of MidAmerica Farm Publications, the event is scheduled for January 12 - 14, 2016 at the Hilton Hotel and Convention Center in Memphis, TN.
Producers, mark your calendar for January 12-14, 2016 for what will be the most important conference to attend in 2016 if you want to increase your yields and cut your costs. “This conference has the reputation as being the number one place where all producers can learn the latest production methods and techniques being utilized by the leading ag producers, researchers and the ag industry in the United States,” said John LaRose, Chairman of Conference Steering Committee.
The 2016 program will include the introduction of the Delta States Irrigation Conference (DSIC) to the conference line-up. DSIC will be presenting research details on; furrow irrigation, side-inlet irrigation, flood irrigation, center pivot irrigation, and irrigation scheduling and pump efficiency. Presentation on Pipe Planner, surge valve research, wireless soil moisture meters sensors, furrow, variable frequency drives and an in-depth workshop on center pivots are scheduled.
The addition of the DSIC to the program is supported by a collaborative effort of irrigation specialists from five Southern universities, University of Arkansas, Mississippi State University, University of Missouri, Louisiana State University AgCenter and Texas A&M.
The conference is fast becoming the leading source for Certified Crop Consultants to earn Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s). The 2015 conference was approved for 72 hours of CEU’s by the Certified Crop Advisors Association. It is expected that more CEU’s will be offered at the 2016 conference.
This conference is a united effort of seven universities: University of Arkansas, Mississippi State University, University of Missouri, University of Tennessee, LSU AgCenter, Auburn University and Texas A&M. Technical Co-sponsors are USDA-ARS centers in Oxford, MS, Stoneville, MS and Auburn, AL.
