Another calendar item is the Regional Hay School at Cassville on December 9 and 11. Start time is 5:30 pm with a meal. The schedule lists 9 pm as adjournment. All aspects of dry hay and round bale silage production will be covered by University of Missouri Extension regional specialists.
The class will be in the Cassville High School Ag classroom. Pease register no later than December 5. The fee is $35 per person or $60 for two if from the same household or farm operation. Topics will teach about forage varieties suited for quality hay; forage analysis; the basics of cutting, raking and baling dry and high moisture hay and how to reduce losses in storing and feeding hay.
