Supply light, mostly small packages of calves, near 27 percent steers and bulls, 45 percent heifers, 23 percent cows, 5 percent slaughter steers and heifers and 21 percent mostly heifers over 600 lbs. Slaughter cows steady to $2 lower.

Compared to last week steers and heifers, lighter runs make it hard to do a true test of the market. The market reflected the difference in the quality of cattle. Good quality steers were $5-10 higher, bull calves lower, heifers uneven. We are into the season of the year when we have warm days and cool nights and cattle get sick. This will be reflected in the market on these type cattle – bawling, unweaned, unvaccinated. Slaughter bulls and cows sold steady.

Steers made up approximately 36 percent of the offering, 45 percent heifers with 19 percent feeder bulls. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 23 percent.
