Compared to two weeks ago, steers and heifers under 500 lbs $5-10 higher, 500-700 lbs firm to $5 higher and over 700 lbs mostly steady. Demand good, best on 400-700 lbs feeders. Supply moderate, mostly 475-875 lbs offerings, near 35 percent steers and bulls, 55 percent heifers, 10 percent cows and 45 percent mostly heifers over 600 lbs. Slaughter cows firm to $2 higher with last week sale.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 4.00-18.00 higher with good quality in the offering. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 3.00 higher with the high yielding offering selling 10.00 higher. Demand good and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 11 percent of the run, 89 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 50 percent of the offering, 37 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 33 percent.

No sale last week due to weather again. What a difference sunshine and warmer temperatures makes! The market on the heavier weight steers and heifers was $1-5 higher. The lighter weight steers and heifers were $5 to $15 or more higher. Slaughter bulls and cows sold higher.

No sale last week due to snow, however compared to two weeks ago 300 lbs steers and heifers sold $12 lower, the rest of the offering sold $1-12 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $3 higher. Demand uneven and supply moderate. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, 86 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 39 percent of the offering, 46 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 24 percent.
