Compared to last week, bulks of Friday’s receipts were heifers weighing 500-900 lbs and sold near steady on comparable sales with last week’s special. Feeder steers were in very short supply and were not well tested. Most of the sales consisted of small packages and singles with two pot loads of yearling heifers in the offering. Slaughter cows accounted for 25 percent of the total receipts. Slaughter cows sold fully steady to firm with a few high dressing ind’s trading at record high levels including several high dressing slaughter bulls. Feeder supply included 18 percent steers, 21 percent bulls and 61 percent heifers, with near 50 percent weighing over 600 lbs.

Due to the weather there was too small an offering for a trend comparison. Slaughter cows and bulls not well tested. Demand and supply light. Cows made up approximately 22 percent of the run, 78 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 49 percent of the offering, 36 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 26 percent.
