Compared to the last special two weeks ago, steer and heifer calves under 550 lbs sold with a sharply higher undertone with few comparisons from last sale, 550-600 lb steers sold 10.00-12.00 higher, 6 weights sold 10.00-20.00 higher, with 700-850 lbs trading 3.00-10.00 higher, over 850 lbs sold with a higher undertone. Feeder heifers weighing 550-600 lbs sold 10.00-20.00 higher, 600-650 lbs traded 10.00-15.00 higher, 650-800 lbs sold 4.00-8.00 higher with 800-850 lbs selling with a higher undertone. Demand was good on a moderate to heavy offering, with overall quality very good. Several stick out sales included the pot loads with a pot load steers weighing 884 lbs at 266.75, pot load steers weighing 927 lbs at 260.25 and 94 head of large frame heifers weighing 1120 lbs at 209.25. Slaughter steers and heifers sold steady with a large offering of slaughter cows trading fully steady to firm. Supply included: 85% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 46% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 15% Slaughter Cattle (18% Steers, 3% Heifers, 70% Cows, 8% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 63%.

Compared to the last full test two weeks ago: Feeder steers steady to 3.00 higher. Feeder heifers mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Stocker steers 10.00-15.00 higher. Steer calves 3.00-8.00 higher. Stocker heifers and heifer calves 10.00-20.00 higher. Very good demand for stocker cattle and calves. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle. A few true wheat cattle included in supply. Lighter receipts today as 2 weeks of winter storms had cattle gains backing up. Producers having to recover weight before they sell. Temperatures more spring like and will be in the upper 60's and low 70's for the week. Quality average to attractive. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (53% Steers, 46% Heifers, 1% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 58%.
