Compared to the last special two week's ago, steer calves weighing under 550 lbs and 400-500 lb heifers sold with a sharply higher undertone on limited comparisons from two weeks ago, 550-700 lb steers sold 5.00-12.00 higher and 500-600 lb heifers sold 5.00-10.00 higher with the most advance on the 500-550 lb heifers, heifers over 600 lbs were not well tested with last special. Demand was good on a good quality offering of weaned steers weighing 400-650 lbs and heifers weighing 400-600 lbs. Stick out sales included two pot loads of (101 hd) of 1083 lb Large Frame heifers selling at 213.35, and a group of thin steers (22 hd) weighing 603 lbs at 302.00. Slaughter steers and heifers sold firm to 1.00 higher with slaughter cows trading steady to 2.00 lower. Supply included: 77% Feeder Cattle (42% Steers, 56% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 23% Slaughter Cattle (8% Steers, 10% Heifers, 78% Cows, 3% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 47%.

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers mostly steady. Steer and heifer calves over 450 lbs steady; under 450 lbs 10.00 higher. Quality plain to average, few attractive. Demand good. Rain continued across the state on Monday. Feeder cattle futures traded in the green today again Monday following a sharp rise late last week. Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (58% Steers, 37% Heifers, 5% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.

Feeder steers & heifers were strong on the better quality on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle)and 5.00-8.00 lower on lower quality medium-short 2-3.
