Compared to last week, a light offering and test of steer and heifer calves sold mostly in small packages, groups and singles with the better quality steer and heifer calves selling with a firm undertone, several small packages of good quality 3 weight steers and heifers traded with a higher undertone. Slaughter steers and heifers traded 3.00-5.00 lower when compared to the last tested market two weeks ago. A large offering of slaughter cows sold firm to 3.00 higher, spots 5.00 higher on the high dressing cows. Supply included: 59% Feeder Cattle (34% Steers, 46% Heifers, 20% Bulls); 39% Slaughter Cattle (7% Steers, 15% Heifers, 68% Cows, 9% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (100% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.

Slaughter steers and heifers traded 4.00 lower on high choice and 5.00 lower on low choice and selects. Holstein steers traded 2.00 higher on high choice and 2.00 lower on low choice and selects. Feeder steers & heifers were strong on first no restriction special on the better quality on medium-large 1-2 (Market quotes are on mostly unvaccinated cattle)and 5.00-8.00 higher on lower quality medium-short 2-3. Slaughter cows traded 2.00-4.00 lower on better overnight cows with good lean cows trading 3.00 lower and 3.00 lower on slower cows. Slaughter bulls traded unevenly steady.
