MSU Hosts Row Crop Short Course For Growers

Agricultural producers and consultants are encouraged to register for the annual Mississippi State University Row Crop Short Course.
Hosted by the Mississippi State University Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, the 2024 Row Crop Short Course will be held Dec. 9-11 at the Mill Conference Center in Starkville.
Featured speakers will present recent and ongoing research on the use of spray drones on row crops, advances in irrigation and weed and pest management. Presenters include MSU Extension and MAFES faculty and crop specialists from Louisiana State University, Clemson University Auburn University and the universities of Arkansas, Georgia and Missouri. There will also be representatives from the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce, U.S. Department of Agriculture and private industry.
The course offers Certified Crop Adviser continuing education units in pest, crop, nutrient and soil and water management. Pesticide applicator recertification credits are also available, along with consultant license renewals in entomology, plant pathology and weed control.
All meals are free of charge for those who preregister by Nov. 25. Registration after that date and at the door is $40 per person.
